What is Chiropractic?
The World Health Organisation defines chiropractic as "A health care profession concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disorders of the neuromusculoskeletal system and the effects of these disorders on general health. There is an emphasis on manual techniques, including joint adjustment and/or manipulation with a particular focus on subluxations."
Chiropractors have 5 years of university education which focuses on understanding the function of the spine and nervous system.
Is Chiropractic Safe?
While chiropractic is generally considered safe, just like most other forms of healthcare it can cause adverse reactions in some people.
Our chiropractors will discuss your specific risks with you clearly before commencing care.
How does Chiropractic work?
After a thorough discussion of any issues you may be seeking care for we will conduct a thorough examination to determine any areas that need attention. From that we will develop a plan to get you headed in the right direction. The most common approaches that we use are chiropractic adjustments which aim to restore better movement to spinal joints and exercise to help improve your strength, mobility and posture.
We use a range of techniques matched to your needs. Firmer adjustments are perfect for some people, while lower force adjustments are better suited to others. Adjustments can be done by hand, using hand held instruments or with special adjusting tables.
